Abstract :
This study systematically reviews the development and application of remote sensing technology in monitoring and evaluating urban heat island (UHI) effects. The urban heat island effect, characterized by significantly higher temperatures in urban areas compared to surrounding rural regions, has become a widespread environmental issue globally, with impacts spanning public health, energy consumption, ecosystems, and social equity. The paper first analyzes the formation mechanisms and impacts of urban heat islands, then traces the evolution of remote sensing technology from early traditional platforms such as Landsat and NOAA-AVHRR to modern next-generation systems, including the Sentinel series and ECOSTRESS, emphasizing improvements in spatial and temporal resolution and their application value. At the methodological level, the study systematically evaluates core algorithms for land surface temperature extraction and heat island intensity calculation, compares innovative developments in multi-source remote sensing data integration and fusion techniques, and establishes a framework for accuracy assessment and validation. Through analyzing the heat island differences between metropolitan areas and small-medium cities, the relationship between urban morphology and thermal environment, and regional specificity and global universal patterns, this study revealed that the proportion of impervious surfaces is the primary driving factor of heat island intensity while simultaneously finding that vegetation cover exhibits significant cooling effects under suitable conditions, with the intensity varying significantly depending on vegetation types, management levels, and climatic conditions. In terms of applications, the paper elaborates on the practical value of remote sensing technology in identifying thermally vulnerable areas, green space planning, urban material optimization, and decision support for UHI mitigation. Finally, in light of current technological limitations, the study anticipates the application prospects of artificial intelligence and emerging analytical methods, as well as trends in urban heat island monitoring against the backdrop of climate change. The research findings not only enrich the theoretical framework of urban climatology but also provide a scientific basis for urban planners, contributing to the development of more effective UHI mitigation strategies and enhanced urban climate resilience.

Abstract :
Sprawling road networks cutting through forested areas continue to be a potent catalyst of deforestation in tropical regions. Yet, pantropical assessments limited by the lack of high-resolution global maps of tropical forest loss induced by road networks. Here, we harnessed the road dataset from the Global Roads Inventory Project and the forest loss dataset from Global Forest Change, to produce global tropical high-resolution maps of road impact index spanning 2001 to 2020. We find that the forest area within a 1-km distance from roads accounts for about one-sixth, but its proportion of forest loss is nearly one-third, the road impact index is 2.45 times higher than those beyond the zone. The road impact index of all countries shows a decreasing trend with the distance from roads and increasing from 2001 to 2020. Our findings emphasize the urgent need for globalized efforts to protect the intact forests and rehabilitate degraded forests along roadside.

明确抚育间伐对千年桐-闽楠混交林的磷动态结构干扰机制,为千年桐-闽楠混交林土壤磷素的科学管理提供依据。以福建南平范桥国有林场5 a生千年桐和闽楠为对象,测定其土壤全磷、有效磷含量以及枝、叶、干、根全磷含量,研究抚育间伐对其根际土和营养器官磷含量的影响。结果表明:1)千年桐与闽楠根际磷富集作用明显,其抚育间伐前后根际土全磷和有效磷含量均显著高于非根际土(P<0.05),抚育间伐使千年桐和闽楠根际土全磷和有效磷含量得到显著提高(P<0.05),在0~15 cm土壤深度,随着土壤深度增加,千年桐和闽楠根际土全磷和有效磷含量均呈上升的趋势。2)千年桐不同土壤深度根际土全磷与有效磷含量在抚育间伐前后均高于闽楠,抚育间伐后千年桐与闽楠不同土壤深度根际土全磷含量的差值与有效磷含量的差值均增大,抚育间伐提高了千年桐与闽楠枝、叶、干、根全磷含量,在抚育间伐前后,千年桐枝、叶、干、根全磷含量均高于闽楠。3)相关性分析表明,千年桐和闽楠根际土有效磷与根全磷、叶全磷均为显著正相关(P<0.05),其根全磷与叶全磷也显著正相关(P<0.05)。抚育间伐提高了千年桐和闽楠营养器官与根际土磷含量,对非根际土磷含量影响较小,对千年桐和闽楠根际土壤磷活化吸收有促进影响;抚育间伐对千年桐的影响程度大于闽楠,千年桐根系比闽楠更发达,具有更强的土壤磷活化能力。

以福建农林大学智慧林业专业课程为例,探索将双碳背景下的生态文明教育融入智慧林业课程体系,旨在为推动生态文明教育和智慧林业的融合提供经验和参考。通过分析智慧林业专业特点,建立一套将生态文明教育融入智慧林业的课程体系。该体系包括:健全的理论课程;生地结合的实践环节设置;技能实用的实验课程,并导入生态文明案例、实现信息化教学等。同时,为了进一步加强对生态文明建设的重视,该专业还强化专业教师生态文明培训和相关教学资源的完善,提高实践教学体系和课程质量,为培养符合时代发展需求的生态文明型专业人才做出了重大贡献。

为探究不同林分对酸性土壤环境中活性铝的含量变化及占比差异的影响,以福建省南平市建阳区木荷、桤木、闽粤栲3种林分为研究对象,测定不同林分根际和非根际土壤交换性铝、单聚体羟基铝、酸溶无机铝、腐殖酸铝的含量,比较不同林分土壤活性铝含量和比例的差异。结果表明:闽粤栲林的根际土壤交换性铝含量相较于木荷林和桤木林分别降低54.48%和38.93%,而单聚体羟基铝含量则分别提高了47.32%和32.56%,桤木林的非根际土壤酸溶无机铝含量在3种林分中最高。在相同林分中,桤木林下土壤的单聚体羟基铝、酸溶无机铝和腐殖酸铝含量在根际和非根际土壤之间均存在显著性差异(P<0.05)。木荷林土壤交换性铝、闽粤栲林土壤酸溶无机铝均在根际与非根际土壤之间存在显著性差异(P<0.05)。在不同形态活性铝的比例中,交换性铝、单聚体羟基铝在3种林分中的含量不同,交换性铝的含量高低表现为木荷林>桤木林>闽粤栲林;单聚体羟基铝的含量高低则表现为闽粤栲林>木荷林>桤木林。土壤活性铝含量变化受根系环境和林分类型等因素的综合影响。

中华优秀传统文化是我国的文化精髓,将其融入到高校专业课程教学中有助于充分发挥主流意识形态的引领作用,增强大学生的民族认同感与文化自信。在阐述中华优秀传统文化与专业课课程教学相融合的重要性的基础上,依托福建农林大学生态学专业核心课程《生态工程学》,采用问卷调查法对该课程中课堂教学与中华优秀传统文化融合的6个案例进行调查,探析学生感兴趣的融合方式及其原因,正确认识中华优秀传统文化在专业课课程思政中的价值,探索中华传统文化融入课程思政建设的有效途径。

Oil exploration fragments coastal wetland habitats, which often leads to biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation. Assessing the negative effects of oil infrastructures at the landscape scale is critical for practical coastal wetland management and the planning of protected areas (PAs). However, information gaps involving wetland connectivity and oil exploration exist in current conservation, which limit the efficiency of PAs. Here, we used a GIS-based circuit theory model (Circuitscape) and high-resolution remote sensing data to simulate the movement patterns of random species and to elucidate the effects of oil wells on their connective elements in four types of wetlands (mudflat, saline marsh, shrub wetland and forest wetland) in the Yellow River Delta (YRD), China. The effectiveness of the Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve (YRDNR) in protecting wetland connectivity was evaluated. A planning framework to optimize wetland conservation and restoration by Linkage Mapper was then provided to improve the landscape connectivity of oil well-disturbed wetlands in this region. The results showed that oil wells significantly decreased wetland connectivity and altered their connective elements in the four wetlands of the YRD. Both the resistance of wetland species movement and the heterogeneity of species dispersal have increased. The length of potential corridors and areas possessing barriers to movement have increased by 126 km (20%) and 51 km2 (120%), respectively. Areas with pinch points that promote species movements, however, decreased by 1178 km2 (60%). The YRDNR protected less than 50% of the key corridors and ecological nodes, considering the impacts of oil wells. Mudflat is seriously affected by oil wells in the YRDNR. Consequently, new alternative corridors produced by oil wells and pinch areas at high risk of impacts by oil wells have the highest protection priorities, whereas those permeable barrier areas, such as croplands and paddy fields, have the highest restoration priorities. The results also illustrated the importance of rivers and water bodies as potential shelters for wetland species. Our research suggests that circuit theory model is an effective planning tool to quantify the negative impacts of oil activities and to identify the protection or restoration priorities of ecological hot spots which are unable to be detected by traditional PAs method. This work provides guides for improving landscape connectivity and specifying target habitats for coastal conservation management.

Background Development of Pantana phyllostachysae, a moso bamboo pest, is affected by its diet. Understanding the mechanism underlying the different insect-resistant capacities of on- and off-year moso bamboo fed by P. phyllostachysae is crucial for managing pest outbreaks. As microbes were proven to influence plant immunity, we compared gut microbial communities of P. phyllostachysae with different diets by metabarcoding sequencing. By using sterilization assay, microbes were removed from leaf surfaces, and thus we confirmed that microbes inhabiting moso bamboo leaves impact the weight of P. phyllostachysae larva. Furthermore, the gut microbial communities of P. phyllostachysae fed on on- and off-year bamboo leaves were compared, to identify the functional microbial communities that impact the interaction between bamboo leaves and P. phyllostachysae. Results We found that species from orders Lactobacillales and Rickettsiales are most effective within functional microbiota. Functional prediction revealed that gut microbes of larva fed on on-year leaves were related to naphthalene degradation, while those fed on off-year leaves were related to biosynthesis of ansamycins, polyketide sugar unit biosynthesis, metabolism of xenobiotics, and tetracycline biosynthesis. Most functional microbes are beneficial to the development of larva that feed on on-year bamboo leaves, but damage the balance of intestinal microenvironment and immune systems of those larva that feed on off-year leaves. Conclusions This work developed an efficient strategy for microbiome research of Lepidopteran insects and provided insights into microbiota related to the interaction between host plants and P. phyllostachysae. We provided microbial candidates for the ecological control of P. phyllostachysae according to the function of effective microbiota.
