Abstract :
In the face of the challenge of urban water resource degradation, green infrastructure construction has become a core strategy in modern urban water resource management. Urban aquatic horticulture (UAH), as an important component of this strategy, possesses the dual value of ecological purification and landscape aesthetics. However, its practical implementation is often constrained by public awareness and acceptance. This study aims to address the mismatch between the dual values of urban aquatic horticulture and public perception, and to develop an optimised plant selection strategy that integrates purification functions with public perception. Based on literature reviews, 18 images of aquatic plant landscapes showcasing different ornamental forms, species richness, and life types were created. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 320 participants to assess their perceptions of landscape aesthetic appeal and visual preferences, and a quantitative relationship model was established using multiple stepwise linear regression analysis. The public's aesthetic perception of aquatic plant landscapes with different ornamental forms and species richness varies significantly, with flowering plant landscapes more likely to evoke aesthetic perception than non-flowering landscapes. The public's visual preferences for landscape attributes significantly influence their aesthetic perception of aquatic plant landscapes. A multiple stepwise linear regression equation was established to model the relationship between the aesthetic perception of aquatic plant community landscapes and the public's visual preferences for landscape attributes. There is no significant association between species richness and perceived landscape aesthetic appeal. The study developed an optimised selection strategy for aquatic plants that integrates purification functions with public perception, providing theoretical basis and practical guidance for the scientific configuration of aquatic horticultural systems in urban green infrastructure. In landscape design, flowering plants with ornamental value should be prioritised, with emphasis on landscape layers, colour, and spatial shaping to enhance public acceptance and promote the sustainable development of urban water resource management.

Abstract :
Urban forests, as vital components of green infrastructure, provide essential ecosystem services (ESs) that support urban sustainability. However, rapid urban expansion and increased density threaten these forests, creating significant imbalances between the supply and demand for these services. Understanding the characteristics of ecosystem services and reasonably dividing ecological management zones are crucial for promoting sustainable urban development. This study introduces an innovative ecological management zoning framework based on the matching degree and synergies relationships of ESs. Focusing on Fuzhou's fourth ring road area in China, data from 1038 urban forest sample plots were collected using mobile LIDAR. By integrating the i-Tree Eco model and Kriging interpolation, we assessed the spatial distribution of four key ESs-carbon sequestration, avoided runoff, air purification, and heat mitigation-and analyzed their supply-demand relationships and synergies. Based on these ecological characteristics, we employed unsupervised machine learning classification to identify eight distinct ecological management zones, each accompanied by targeted recommendations. Key findings include the following: (1) ecosystem services of urban forests in Fuzhou exhibit pronounced spatial heterogeneity, with clearly identifiable high-value and low-value areas of significant statistical relevance; (2) heat mitigation, avoided runoff, and air purification services all exhibit synergistic effects, while carbon sequestration shows trade-offs with the other three services in high-value areas, necessitating targeted optimization; (3) eight ecological management zones were identified, each with unique ecological characteristics. This study offers precise spatial insights into Fuzhou's urban forests, providing a foundation for sustainable ecological management strategies.

Abstract :
The emergence of urban forest trails provides more opportunities for the public to access nature. Environmental health factors, as important elements in the forest natural environment, are important for improving public health and enhancing environmental well-being. However, the scientific understanding of the vegetation characteristics of urban forest trails influencing environmental health factors is still needed to be further explored. Based on the field survey, we selected Fu Forest Tail as the site and 21 sample sites were delineated to collect data on vegetation characteristics and environmental health factors. The effects of vegetation characteristics and their roles were explored using variance, correlation, ridge regression and interaction effect analysis. The results indicated some differences in the mechanisms of how vegetation characteristics affect different environmental health factors. Diameter at breast height, the percentage of evergreen trees, canopy density, leaf area index, and vegetation diversity are among those that have a substantial impact on environmental health factors, while interactions between vegetation characteristics could also have different significant effects on environmental health factors. These results reflect the key vegetation characteristics that affect the environmental health factors and can provide scientific guidance and theoretical basis for future urban forest trail planning and urban forestry construction.

Abstract :
From the perspective of landscape environment and human health, this study introduces the concept of soundscape from soundscape ecology. Through two experiments evaluating the restorative properties of soundscapes, it analyzes and compares the differences in restorative benefits among various sounds in urban green spaces. The study further explores the effects of single soundscapes and combined soundscape types on environmental restorative benefits and provides recommendations for creating restorative soundscapes in urban green spaces. The main findings of this study are as follows: (1) Sound types significantly influence soundscape restorative benefits, with notable interactions observed among three single soundscape categories. Significant differences were also found in the restorative effects of different combined soundscapes. (2) The most restorative sounds for anthropogenic, biophonic, and geophonic soundscapes are light background music (1.4193), bird sounds (1.9890), and flowing water sounds (1.2691), respectively. The least restorative sounds are vehicle noise (-2.6210), conversation sounds (-0.8788), and thunder sounds (-0.7840). (3) Significant differences exist between the restorative effects of single and multi-level combined soundscapes. Except for bird sounds, the general restorative pattern is as follows: two-level combined soundscapes > three-level combined soundscapes > single soundscapes.

Abstract :
Nowadays, more and more people choose to go to the traditional villages with beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere to relax and relieve stress due to the unique cultural background and environmental atmosphere of the traditional villages, which well met the public's aesthetic value of the landscape environment. Previous research has primarily focuses on traditional villages' history, cultural background, rural land planning, traditional ancient architecture and other directions. However, relatively few studies have explored the public perception of the traditional village landscape. Existing studies are usually limited to a single-field study or laboratory study, and the medium used to show the village landscape remain relatively simple. Therefore, this study investigates the perceptions of traditional village landscape space using an experimental approach. It examines how subjects perceive landscapes using two-dimensional (2D) displays, three-dimensional (3D) VR displays, and five media representing landscapes: real scenes, photographs, videos, 2D panoramas, and 3D panoramas. The advantages, limitations, and feasibilities of various combinations of media and medium representations are analyzed to determine the optimal methods for landscape perception and evaluation. The results demonstrate that the medium combination significantly influences landscape evaluations by affecting the subjects' perceptions. The degree of landscape perception is a highly significant mediating factor. The combination of 3D displays of 720 degrees panoramas provides the best agreement between laboratory-based findings and real-world environments, regardless of the media type. This paper summarizes the data of public perception of village landscape under various media, compares and analyzes the results, and aim to provide the most suitable research reference scheme for future studies in related fields.

Abstract :
As unique geographical entities, island cities boast abundant ecological resources and profound cultural values, serving as critical hubs for maintaining ecosystem services in coastal transition zones. Ensuring the stability of ecosystem services is strategically significant for sustainable urban development, while the construction of Ecosystem Service Networks (ESNs) has emerged as a core strategy to enhance ecological functionality and mitigate systemic risks. Based on current research gaps, this study focuses on three key questions: (1) How to construct a Composite Ecosystem Service Index (CESI) for island cities? (2) How to identify the Ecosystem Service Networks (ESNs) of island-type cities? (3) How to optimize the ecosystem service networks of island cities? This study selects Pingtan Island as a representative case, innovatively integrating the InVEST and MaxEnt models to conduct a comprehensive assessment of ecological and cultural services. By employing Principal Component Analysis (PCA), a Composite Ecosystem Service Index (CESI) was established. The research follows a systematic technical approach to construct and optimize the ESN: landscape connectivity indices were applied to identify ecological source areas based on CESI outcomes; multidimensional resistance factors were integrated into the Minimum Cumulative Resistance (MCR) model to develop the foundational ecological network; gradient buffer zone analysis and circuit theory were sequentially employed to refine the network structure and evaluate ecological efficacy. Key findings reveal: (1) Landscape connectivity analysis scientifically delineated 20 ecologically valuable source areas; (2) The coupled MCR model and circuit theory established a hierarchical ESN comprising 45 corridors (12 Level-1, 14 Level-2, and 19 Level-3), identifying 5.75 km2 of ecological pinch points, 7.17 km2 of ecological barriers, and 84 critical nodes-primarily concentrated in cultivated areas; (3) Buffer zone gradient analysis confirmed 30 m as the optimal corridor width for multi-scale planning; (4) Circuit theory optimization significantly enhanced network current density (1.653 -> 8.224), demonstrating a leapfrog improvement in ecological service efficiency. The proposed "assessment-construction-optimization" integrated methodology establishes an innovative paradigm for deep integration of ecosystem services with urban spatial planning. These findings provide practical spatial guidance for island city planning, supporting corridor design, conservation prioritization, and targeted restoration, thereby enhancing ecosystem service efficiency, biodiversity protection, and resilience against coastal ecosystem fragmentation.

Abstract :
Chinese fir, as a crucial fast-growing tree species in the hilly regions of southern China, exhibits spatial structure characteristics that directly influence both the ecological functionality and productivity of its stands. This study focused on Chinese fir plantations in the Yangkou State-Owned Forest Farm, Fujian Province. Using UAV-LiDAR point cloud data, individual tree parameters such as height and crown width were extracted, and a DBH inversion model was constructed by integrating machine learning algorithms. Spatial structure parameters were quantified through weighted Voronoi diagrams. A comprehensive evaluation system was established based on the combined weighting method and fuzzy evaluation model to systematically analyze spatial structure characteristics and their evolutionary patterns across different age classes. The results demonstrated that growth environment indicators (openness and openness ratio) progressively declined with the stand's age, reflecting deteriorating light conditions due to increasing canopy closure. Growth superiority (size ratio and angle competition index) exhibited a "V"-shaped trend, with the most intense competition occurring in the middle-aged stands before stabilizing in the over-mature stage. The resource utilization efficiency (uniform angle and forest layer index) showed continuous optimization, reaching optimal spatial configuration in over-mature stands. This study developed a spatial structure evaluation system for Chinese fir plantations by combining UAV data and cloud modeling, elucidating structural characteristics and developmental patterns across different growth stages, thereby providing theoretical foundations and technical support for close-to-nature management and the precision quality improvement of Chinese fir plantations.
