Abstract :
Strong impact does serious harm to the military industries so it is necessary to choose reasonable cushioning material and design effective buffers to prevent the impact of equipment. Based on the capillary property entangled porous metallic wire materials (EPMWM), this paper designed a composite buffer which uses EPMWM and viscous fluid as cushioning materials under the low-speed impact of the recoil force device of weapon equipment (such as artillery, mortar, etc.). Combined with the capillary model, porosity, hydraulic diameter, maximum pore diameter and pore distribution were used to characterize the pore structure characteristics of EPMWM. The calculation model of the damping force of the composite buffer was established. The low-speed impact test of the composite buffer was conducted. The parameters of the buffer under low-speed impact were identified according to the model, and the nonlinear model of damping force was obtained. The test results show that the composite buffer with EPMWM and viscous fluid can absorb the impact energy from the recoil movement effectively, and provide a new method for the buffer design of weapon equipment (such as artillery, mortar, etc.). Abstract :
Reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector is a crucial aspect of China achieving its carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. This study investigates the spatiotemporal differentiation characteristics of carbon emissions from transportation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Using the Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression(GTWR) model to reveal the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of factors influencing transportation carbon emissions. Additionally, the Support Vector Regression(SVR) is trained to predict the carbon emissions reduction potential of transportation under different scenarios. The results showed that: From 2000 to 2021, the transportation emissions of the Yangtze River economic belt showed an overall upward trend. The high carbon emission regions are Jiangsu Province, Shanghai, Zhejiang Province and Hubei Province, and the emission center is located in Hubei Province. The total population, urbanization rate, per capita GDP, carbon emission intensity, passenger turnover volume, and civilian vehicle ownership all have a positive effect on transportation carbon emissions, while energy structure has a negative impact. Moreover, the influence of each factor exhibits significant spatial heterogeneity. Under three scenarios: baseline, low-carbon scenario I, and low-carbon scenario II, transportation carbon emissions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are projected to peak by 2030. With the application of clean energy and a reduction in population size, low carbon scenario II demonstrates greater potential for carbon emission reduction, with a projected value of 88.552 million tons by 2032.

Abstract :
Entangled metallic wire material-silicone rubber (EMWM-SR) composites with a three-dimensional interpenetrating network structure were manufactured through the vacuum infiltration method with the matrix of entangled metallic wire material (EMWM) and reinforcing element of silicone rubber (SR). Quasistatic compression tests and low-velocity impact tests of the proposed composites were performed, and the deformation model and damage characteristics of the tested EMWM-SR composites were investigated by per-forming computerized tomography scans and indentation depths. Experimental results show that the stiffness and energy consumption of the EMWM-SR composites are more than twice the sum of those of the individual EMWM and SR in the displacement range of 1.5-4.0 mm. With the increase of loading displacement, the stiffness of EMWM-SR com-posites increases steadily and the energy consumption increases sharply. Compared with EMWM and SR, the maximum displacement and peak force of the composite materials are decreasing significantly in the low-velocity impact tests. With increasing density, the impact resistance of the composites increases, while the energy absorption decreases. In other words, EMWM-SR 2.6 has better impact resistance but lower energy absorption ca-pacity. The maximum displacement and the peak force increase synchronously with the increase in impact velocity. Interestingly, the composites maintain a high energy absorp-tion capacity at different impact speeds. Furthermore, the energy absorption characteris-tics of the EMWM-SR composites under low-velocity impact are described in terms of the deformation mechanism of the wires.(c) 2023 The Authors. Abstract :
This work presents the experimental characterization and improved model of multi-strand entangled metallic wire materials (MS-EMWMs). MS-EMWM is a novel damping material made of several strands of entangled wires using a modified manufacturing process. Six batches of specimens were fabricated and tested under quasi-static loading. Secant stiffness and loss factor were calculated to indicate the mechanical properties. The results showed that MS-EMWM has the characteristics of high damping energy dissipation compared to EMWM. A micro-multi-strand spiral spring model was proposed to predict the mechanical properties of MS-EMWM. The probability distribution of micro-spring pairs between wires was used to characterize the random combination of materials. According to the results, the improved model can effectively reflect the mechanical behavior of MS-EMWM. The mechanical properties of MS-EMWM were predicted by the coefficient matrix obtained by particle swarm optimization. Through the prediction and test results, the predicted results are acceptable.

Abstract :
A constitutive model is developed to efficiently capture the nonlinear hysteretic properties of a new type of high-damping metal wire mesh (HDMWM). In the HDMWM, the metal wire mesh is woven with multi-strand twisted wires in a certain regularity. In the quasi-static test, six batches of metal wire mesh (MWM) and HDMWM specimens with different densities and varying number of strands are prepared and their mechanical properties are characterized by secant stiffness, energy consumption and loss factor. Results show that for the same density, the energy consumption and loss factor of HDMWM specimens are higher than MWM specimens by 10.69 similar to 22.83% and 44.19 similar to 48.44%, respectively. Additionally, HDMWM is found to have a higher damping level than MWM. A constitutive model is proposed that comprises a cantilever beam as the force analysis element where the change of the arc angle of the element mesh is similar to a normal distribution. The accuracy of the model is verified by error analysis, which shows that the relative percentage error between model results and test results is 0.97 similar to 12.13%. Therefore, the constitutive model can reflect the mechanical properties of HDMWM with reasonable accuracy.

Let W-alpha,W-rho = x(alpha)(1 - x(2))(rho)e(-Q(x)), where alpha > 1/2 and Q is continuous and increasing on [0, 1), with limit infinity at 1. This paper deals with orthogonal polynomials for the weights W-alpha,rho(2) and gives bounds on orthogonal polynomials, zeros, Christoffel functions and Markov inequalities. In addition, estimates of fundamental polynomials of Lagrange interpolation at the zeros of the orthogonal polynomial and restricted range inequalities are obtained.

Abstract :
To reduce the aerodynamic drag of the vehicle, three kinds of riblet shape non-smooth surfaces were arranged in the tail of the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) stepped-back vehicle mode. The shapes of the non-smooth riblet elements are triangular, circular and rectangular. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method was used for numerical analysis. To verify the effectiveness of the analysis method, the analysis result of the standard MIRA stepped-back vehicle mode was compared with wind tunnel test data. The tail-flow, pressure and turbulent kinetic energy of the MIRA stepped back vehicle modes, which were arranged with riblet elements, were analyzed. The effects of riblet shape of non-smooth surfaces on the reduction of vehicle' aerodynamic drag were compared with each other. The simulation results show that the three kinds of non-smooth surfaces have a good effect on drag reduction by reducing the negative pressure in the tail zone of the model, reduce the turbulent kinetic energy and reduce energy dissipation. The circular non-smooth surface is better than the other, with drag reduction effect of 5.53%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
