Preparation and characterization of Ti-Mn-Cu/TiC amorphous alloy composite powders via mechanical alloying SCIE

Abstract :

The Ti-based amorphous alloy system was designed based on the principles of "near mixing enthalpy" and "effective atomic size difference," leading to a series of compositions formulated as Ti(76-2x)Mn(7 + x)Cu(17+x) (x = 0, 5, 10, 15). Among these, the Ti56Mn17Cu27 composition exhibited the highest degree of amorphization after 60 h of mechanical alloying. Accordingly, this study systematically investigated the influence of TiC powder addition on the glass-forming ability, microstructure, and thermal stability of Ti56Mn17Cu27 alloy powders. The results revealed that in the absence of TiC, residual crystalline phases, mainly Mn solid solution, remained throughout the mechanical alloying process. In contrast, the addition of TiC significantly accelerated the disappearance of residual Mn diffraction peaks, facilitating the formation of Ti-Mn-Cu/TiC amorphous composite powders after 60 h of milling. The incorporation of TiC promoted dislocation multiplication within and around the residual crystalline regions, disrupted local lattice ordering, and enhanced non-equilibrium atomic diffusion, collectively promoting the amorphization process. Furthermore, TiC addition contributed to particle size refinement and improved uniformity in size distribution. Among all studied compositions, the Ti56Mn17Cu27 + 10 wt.% TiC powder demonstrated the highest amorphous phase fraction, the broadest supercooled liquid region (Delta Tx = 27.09 degrees C), and a relatively low crystallization enthalpy, indicating that the optimal TiC content effectively enhances both amorphous phase formation and thermal stability.

Wear Resistance Enhancement of Rotary Tillage Blades Through Structural Optimization and Surface Strengthening SCIE

Abstract :

Rotary tillage blades, as critical components of soil tillage machinery, encounter significant challenges in mountainous agricultural operations, where excessive wear and high energy consumption are persistent issues. To address these problems, this study proposes an integrated strategy combining structural optimization with surface reinforcement. A blade-soil interaction model based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) was developed to optimize blade geometry, reducing power consumption to 0.106 kW with a simulation error of only 2.83%. In parallel, Fe60-WC composite coatings containing 30%, 35%, and 40% WC were fabricated on 65Mn substrates using laser cladding. Microstructural analysis revealed significant grain refinement with increasing WC content, while tribological tests showed that the 35% WC coating blades exhibited superior wear resistance, with a mass loss of 1.9 mg, and a relatively low friction coefficient of 0.362. Field trials further confirmed that the blades resulted in a 45.75% reduction in average wear, after structural enhancement and the application of the optimized coating, with a measured loss of 2.259 g compared to the uncoated blades. These findings demonstrate the synergistic benefits of structural optimization and advanced surface engineering, providing an effective pathway to improve the durability and efficiency of rotary tillage blades in demanding field conditions.

Multi-Objective Emergency Path Planning Based on Improved Nondominant Sorting Genetic Algorithm SCIE

Abstract :

Three-dimensional path planning in emergency logistics is a complex optimization problem, particularly challenging because it requires considering conflicting objectives such as flight time, energy consumption, and obstacle avoidance. Unlike most urban logistics research, this study examines emergency delivery path planning in mountainous environments during natural disasters. One of the most effective approaches to this problem is to employ multi-objective evolutionary algorithms. However, while multi-objective genetic algorithms can handle multiple conflicting objectives, they struggle when dealing with complex constraints. This paper proposes a multi-objective genetic optimization method, Adaptive Crossover-Mutation Multi-Objective Genetic Optimization (ACM-NSGA-II), based on the classic NSGA-II framework. Inspired by the principle of symmetry, this method dynamically adjusts the mutation and crossover rates based on population diversity to maintain a balanced exploration-exploitation trade-off. When population diversity is low, the mutation rate is increased to promote exploration of the solution space; when population diversity is high, the crossover rate is increased to promote better information exchange. The algorithm maintains symmetry by gradually adjusting the step size, balancing adaptability and stability. To address the obstacle avoidance problem, we introduced a dynamic path repair strategy that respects the symmetry of no-fly zone boundaries and terrain features, ensuring the safety and efficiency of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. This algorithm jointly optimizes three objectives: safety cost, flight time, and energy consumption. The algorithm was tested in a mountainous environment model simulating a remote area. In experiments, ACM-NSGA-II was compared with several mainstream evolutionary algorithms. The Pareto set and hypervolume metrics of each method were recorded and statistically analyzed at a 5% significance level. The results show that ACM-NSGA-II outperforms the baseline algorithms in terms of diversity, convergence, and feasibility. Specifically, compared with the traditional NSGA-II, ACM-NSGA-II improved the average hypervolume metric by 53.39% and reduced the average flight time by 24.26%. ACM-NSGA-II also demonstrated significant advantages over other popular standard algorithms. Experimental results show that it can effectively solve the path planning challenge of emergency logistics Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in mountainous environments.

Abstract :

The study investigated the influence of hot extrusion on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance of powder metallurgy titanium alloys with different Cu contents (x=1,5,10 %). The microstructure of these alloys predominantly consists of coarse layered alpha and (3 phases. A higher Cu content leads to the formation of a coarse blocky Ti2Cu phase, exhibiting dimensions in the range of hundreds of microns, along with an increased volume fraction of both the (3 and Ti2Cu phases. After hot extrusion, the microstructure undergoes significant refinement, transitioning from a coarse layered structure to nano-equiaxed grains at a Cu content of 1 %. However, this grain refinement effect diminishes at a Cu content of 5 %, where the equiaxed grains increase to about 1 mu m, and the size of the Ti2Cu phase is reduced to the nanometer scale. Further increases in the Cu content result in a mixed microstructure comprising ultrafine layers and equiaxed grains. The mechanical properties of compression tests are enhanced, achieving a yield strength of about 1500 MPa. The strength increases by approximately 380 MPa with the 1 % Cu content, attributed to grain boundary strengthening. At 5 % Cu content the strength rises by about 290 MPa, with contributions of 136 MPa from grain boundary strengthening, 60 MPa from precipitation strengthening, and the remainder from solid solution strengthening. The mechanisms of strengthening remain consistent with further increases in Cu content. The extruded Ti6Al4VxCu alloys with 5% Cu content exhibit the most favorable corrosion performance. The sizes of the grains, as well as the proportion and dimensions of precipitated phases, play a critical role in the formation of the passive film and affect galvanic corrosion, thereby impacting overall corrosion performance.

Optimization of Laser Cladding Process Parameters and Analysis of Organizational Properties of Mixer Liners SCIE

Abstract :

Aiming to address the wear and replacement inconvenience of concrete mixer liners, this study utilizes a laser cladding system to clad Fe60 alloy powder on the liner. It investigates the influence of different process parameters on the forming quality of the Fe60 alloy powder cladding layer. The optimal process parameters were obtained by weighted comprehensive evaluation, and single-layer multi-pass cladding experiments were carried out under the optimal process parameters to investigate the effects of a 30%, 40%, and 50% lap rate on the surface flatness and forming quality of the cladding layer. Using a metallographic microscope, a scanning electron microscope analysis of the macro morphology and microstructure of the cladding layer was conducted, a DPT-5 penetration flaw detector was used to observe the cracks on the surface of the multi-channel cladding, a microhardness tester and friction and wear experimental machine were used for the hardness of the cladding layer, and an abrasive wear resistance test was conducted. The results show that under the process parameters of a laser power of 900 W, powder feeding speed of 7 g/min, scanning speed of 600 mm/min, and 50% lap rate, the average microhardness of the fused cladding layer reaches 742 HV, which is 1.8 times higher than that of the liner plate, and the coefficient of friction is 0.57, which improves the liner plate's wear resistance performance and service life.

Abstract :

为提高45#钢表面的显微硬度及耐磨性能,以Fe60自熔性合金粉末作为熔覆层原料,通过激光熔覆和激光重熔工艺制备熔覆涂层。利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)观察涂层的显微组织,利用维氏硬度计、磨损实验机、三维形貌仪等仪器进行显微硬度、耐磨性能及磨损机制的测试。结果表明:激光熔覆制备的涂层枝晶组织尺寸较大,激光重熔后的涂层枝晶晶粒细化且更加致密。相较于基体,激光熔覆制备的涂层平均硬度为670 HV,是基体的3.38倍,激光重熔后的涂层平均硬度为682 HV,相较于基体硬度提升3.43倍。经过激光重熔及激光熔覆涂层的摩擦系数、磨损量相较于基体得到显著降低,其磨损量分别降低了8倍、2.67倍,耐磨性能得到显著提升,涂层的摩擦磨损形式为磨粒磨损及黏着磨损。

铁基非晶合金存在非晶形成能力低、室温塑性差等问题,极大地限制了其在工程中的应用。基于“近混合焓+有效原子尺寸差”非晶合金成分设计理念设计了Fe_(55)Nb_(15)Ti_(15)Ta_(15)全金属组元粉末,采用机械合金化球磨工艺成功制备出非晶态合金粉末,并研究了TiC陶瓷粉末的加入对Fe_(55)Nb_(15)Ti_(15)Ta_(15)合金粉末非晶形成能力、微观形貌和热稳定性的影响。结果表明:Fe_(55)Nb_(15)Ti_(15)Ta_(15)合金粉末具有较好的非晶形成能力和热稳定性,TiC陶瓷粉末均匀稳定的分布于Fe_(55)Nb_(15)Ti_(15)Ta_(15)非晶合金粉末中。添加质量分数15%TiC陶瓷粉末延缓了球磨过程中Fe_(55)Nb_(15)Ti_(15)Ta_(15)合金粉末的合金化和非晶化进程,降低了热稳定性,使得球磨后粉末粒度变小,分布范围变宽。该项工艺可制备出具有较大室温塑性的大块铁基非晶合金原始粉末。
