Saline-Alkali Tolerance Evaluation of Giant Reed (Arundo donax) Genotypes Under Saline-Alkali Stress at Seedling Stage SCIE

Abstract :

Soil salinization and alkalization are serious global challenges that adversely affect crop growth and yield. In this study, six genotypes of giant reed (Arundo donax) seedlings (LvZhou_No.1, LvZhou_No.3, LvZhou_No.6, LvZhou_No.11, LvZhou_No.12 and LvZhou_Var.) originating from different regions of China and Rwanda were utilized as experimental materials. This study aimed to investigate the physiological and biochemical responses of various genotypes to saline-alkali stress and to identify stress-tolerant resources. A mixture saline-alkali solution with a molar ratio of NaCl: Na2SO4: NaHCO3: Na2CO3 = 1:1:1:1 was prepared at three concentrations (75, 150 and 225 millimolar (mM)) for a 7-day pot experiment. Growth and physiological indices were measured at the seedling stage, and salt tolerance was evaluated accordingly. The results indicated the following: the growth indices were significantly reduced across seedlings of all genotypes when the concentration of stress exceeded 150 mM (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in chlorophyll content (SPAD value) and maximum photochemical efficiency of PS II (F-v/F-m) with increasing saline-alkali stress. However, the photosynthetic rate (P-n), stomatal conductance (G(s)) and transpiration rate (T-r) exhibited decreasing trends, reaching their lowest levels at 225 mM. In contrast, the intercellular CO2 concentration (C-i) value decreased to its lowest at 150 mM but increased at 225 mM. Relative electrical conductivity (REC) and the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA), proline (Pro) and soluble sugar (SS) increased progressively with higher stress concentrations. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) were significantly enhanced at stress concentrations above 150 mM. The saline-alkali tolerance of A. donax seedlings was comprehensively evaluated using principal component analysis and membership function analysis based on 15 parameters. The results indicate that P-n, T-r and G(s) are effective physiological indicators for assessing saline-alkali tolerance of A. donax seedlings. The six genotypes were ranked for saline-alkali tolerance as follows: LZ_No.1 > LZ_No.11 > LZ_No.12 > LZ_Var. > LZ_No.3 > LZ_No.6. This indicates that LZ_No.1 shows the highest resistance to saline-alkali stress, whereas LZ_No.6 is the most severely affected, classifying it as a salinity-sensitive genotype. In conclusion, LZ_No.1 exhibits robust saline-alkali tolerance and represents a valuable germplasm resource for improving saline-alkali tolerance in A. donax propagation. The results not only support the development of resilient plants for saline-alkali environments but also offer insights into the mechanisms of salinity tolerance.

Abstract :

BACKGROUNDThe rice-wheat rotation system (RWRS) is a predominant cropping pattern in mid-eastern China, playing a crucial role in ensuring food security. However, its intensive water and fertilizer inputs contribute significantly to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. With global climate warming, RWRS confronts the dual imperative of simultaneously enhancing productivity and eco-efficiency while significantly curtailing GHG emissions.RESULTSFuture warming climate under most global climate models (GCMs) had adverse impacts on yield, water-use efficiency (WUE), nitrogen-use efficiency (NUE) and GHG intensity (GHGI) of RWRS in the central and southern regions of mid-eastern China. Compared to traditional management (TM) with high water and nitrogen inputs, optimized water and nitrogen management (OM) - utilizing intermittent irrigation and a nitrogen application rate of 390 kg ha-1 - can significantly enhance WUE and NUE while reducing GHGI, without compromising yield. Moreover, no tillage, as a conservation tillage (CT) practice could effectively mitigate the negative impacts of future climate change. The combination of OM and CT (OM + CT) can improve yield and eco-efficiency while reducing global warming potential. For RWRS with OM + CT, GHGI decreased by 45.6-60.9% under future climate scenarios compared to TM.CONCLUSIONSBy using knowledge-based optimum management strategies, environmental risks can be reduced without sacrificing the yield of RWRS yield. This study demonstrates a useful approach with crop modelling to ensure yield for agriculture system at a lower environment cost, which can be adjusted and applied in other farming systems and regions. Abstract :

The examination of the dynamic characteristics of water vapor and energy exchange under the backdrop of global climate change is crucial for the sustainable utilization and management of water resources, particularly in agricultural regions where water is a scarce commodity. Based on the water and heat flux data and meteorological information collected by the Bowen ratio flux column of the Giant Juncao (Cenchrus fungigraminus) ecosystem in the semi-arid region of northwest China in 2022, the energy balance method and plate heat flux method were used to calculate the energy exchange and evapotranspiration indicators, and the changes of energy balance and evapotranspiration under different weather conditions were explored. The influence of Giant Juncao (Cenchrus fungigraminus) on surface energy balance; The main driving factors of evapotranspiration and Bowen ratio change. The findings show that solar radiation during summer weather exhibits a single-peak pattern, with peak intensity ranked as clear > cloudy > rainy days. Net radiation follows a single-peak trajectory on clear days, varies significantly on cloudy days, and forms a 'concave' pattern on rainy days. The mean net radiation is highest on cloudy days, followed by rainy and then clear days. Specifically, cloudy days register 527.41 W/m<^>2 more net radiation than clear days and 343.28 W/m<^>2 more than rainy days every 10 minutes. Surface reflected radiation, under all weather scenarios, adheres to a single-peak pattern. There is a positive correlation between solar radiation, temperature, and surface reflectance, with the presence of Giant Juncao enhancing reflectance. The average annual surface reflectance of the Giant Juncao ecosystem is 0.28, with the following order: clear days < cloudy days < rainy days. Latent heat flux manifests a single-peak pattern on clear days, a wave-like trend on cloudy days, and its magnitude on rainy days is contingent upon rainfall timing, showing reduced latent heat flux during rainfall and an increase in the atmosphere's latent heat flux during dry spells. The diurnal range of sensible heat flux is greatest on clear days, followed by cloudy and rainy days, mirroring the pattern observed in soil heat flux. Both the Bowen ratio and evapotranspiration exhibit a single-peak variation across all weather conditions. Evapotranspiration totals 0.74 mm on clear days, which is lower than the 1.41 mm observed on cloudy days but higher than the 0.45 mm on rainy days. The average Bowen ratio across different weather conditions follows the sequence: cloudy days > clear days > rainy days. Solar radiation emerges as the principal driver of evapotranspiration and the Bowen ratio, with additional influences from air temperature, wind speed, and soil moisture content under varying weather conditions. This study of energy partitioning within the Giant Juncao ecosystem under diverse weather scenarios lays the groundwork for future propagation and cultivation of Giant Juncao in the equatorial zone and the semi-arid regions of Northwest China.

芦竹属菌草腋芽萌发期耐盐性评价

Abstract :

【目的】筛选腋芽萌发期耐盐性较强的芦竹属菌草品种,为该类菌草耐盐品种培育提供参考。【方法】以国内外不同地区的12个芦竹属菌草品种为试材,对150 mmol·L~(-1) NaCl溶液处理后腋芽萌发期的各个指标(芽长、根长、芽鲜质量、根鲜质量、发芽势、发芽率、发芽指数和活力指数)进行测定。利用模糊隶属函数法和聚类分析法对供试品种的耐盐性进行综合评价。【结果】与对照组相比,在150 mmol·L~(-1) NaCl胁迫下,所有供试品种的发芽势均降低,芽长、根长、芽鲜质量和根鲜质量都减小;除LZ_NO.1、LZ_NO.3和LZ_NO.7外,其他品种的发芽率均下降;活力指数受盐胁迫的影响最大。基于各指标耐盐系数隶属函数值的临近度对12个品种进行聚类分析,结果表明:LZ_NO.1、LZ_NO.3和LZ_NO.7为一类,属高耐盐型;LZ_NO.2、LZ_NO.4和LZ_NO.6为一类,属盐敏感型。【结论】腋芽萌发期耐盐性较强的芦竹属菌草品种为LZ_NO.1、LZ_NO.3和LZ_NO.7;根据活力指数可判定芦竹属菌草品种的质量优劣。

西北半干旱地区巨菌草地土壤热通量特征及其影响因素分析

土壤热通量是地球系统中能量交换的关键指标,对气象、生态系统、地下水循环和农业生产有着重要影响。以中国西北半干旱地区的巨菌草生态系统为对象,利用2022年的波文比系统观测数据,采用热传导对流法计算土壤热通量,分析其能量平衡特征及影响因素。结果表明:1)种植期,巨菌草的覆盖显著降低了土壤能量散失,增强了10 cm和20 cm深度土壤热通量与地表的关联性。地表土壤体积热容量在种植期高于全年平均值,且随深度增加而增大。2)种植前,20 cm深度土壤热通量与地表相近,但峰值更高,存在滞后现象。收获期,10 cm和20 cm深度土壤热通量均高于地表,且整体呈现负值,表明土壤向大气传递能量。3)晴天时,地表土壤热通量峰值高于阴天和雨天,且出现时间不同。种植期,晴天和雨天土壤热通量波动较小,但晴天热通量低于雨天。随着深度增加,晴天热通量波动增大。4)种植期,巨菌草高度和土壤湿度是影响土壤热通量的主要因素。种植前后,太阳辐射、气温、土壤温度和空气湿度是主要影响因素。降水量与土壤热通量在种植前、后无显著相关性,但在种植期呈显著负相关。综上所述,巨菌草的覆盖有助于减少土壤能量散失,提高土壤体积热容量,稳定土壤热通量变化。

不同光合-光响应曲线模型对调亏灌溉条件下巨菌草的适应性

Abstract :

以巨菌草为试材,采用盆栽控水试验法,研究了光合-光响应曲线模型-指数模型、直角双曲线模型、非直角双曲线模型及直角双曲线修正模型对巨菌草光合-光响应的适应性,以期为巨菌草合理灌溉及水分亏缺时模型的准确选择提供参考依据。结果表明:光合-光响应曲线会随着调亏灌溉的程度和调亏灌溉处理后处理时间延长而发生变化,亏缺程度和亏缺时间对光合-光响应曲线有叠加效应。模型验证发现,适宜水分亏缺条件下巨菌草的光合-光响应曲线模型为非直角双曲线模型。

巨菌草地表能量交换特征及其影响因素

基于波文比—能量平衡法,研究了巨菌草生长过程入射太阳辐射(R_d)、反射太阳辐射(R_u)、净辐射(R_n)、潜热(LH)、显热(SH)、土壤热通量(G)和波文比(β)等的变化动态;通过耦合系数(Ω)评价地表能量通量的影响因素,提出一种地表通量异常值插值方法的判断标准,确定β异常值为-2.00~-0.50.结果表明:采用随机森林插值方法可获得质量良好的通量数据.生育期R_d、R_u、R_n、LH、SH、G、β和Ω的平均值分别为185.99 W·m~(-2)、72.56 W·m~(-2)、111.35 W·m~(-2)、82.94 W·m~(-2)、31.26 W·m~(-2)、-2.72 W·m~(-2)、0.38和0.6,R_d是季节尺度上其他参数变化的主要影响因子,LH和SH同时受到冠层导度(g_c)和饱和水汽压差(VPD)等因素的影响.晴天R_n、LH和SH较高,阴天R_n、LH和SH较低.晴天和阴天的β由g_c和R_n决定,生育早期具有低g_c和高R_n的特征,晴天的β大于阴天;生育盛期具有高g_c和低R_n的特征,晴天的β低于阴天.

基于波文比系统研究了巨菌草生育盛期的蒸散发(ET)动态及影响因素.结果表明,波文比趋于-1时的不同异常值判定范围显著影响潜热和显热通量,使用预测均值匹配和随机森林两种方法对异常值进行插补均可得到有效的完整序列.净辐射、潜热通量、显热通量和土壤热通量的平均值分别为111.35、81.55、32.28和-2.72 W·m~(-2).ET日均值为-0.12~5.31 mm,平均值为2.88 mm.ET小时动态均为单峰变化过程,晴天和阴天条件下的峰值分别为0.6和0.3 mm.利用逐步回归方法得到的巨菌草ET气象影响因素可以解释95%的变化.巨菌草生育盛期的作物系数为1.67,解释率为87%.

【目的】建立各种品种菌草叶片叶绿素光谱模型为快速无损地评估菌草健康状态提供理论依据。【方法】利用多光谱相机拍摄光谱信息,使用RGB和HSV两种颜色空间系统进行NDSI、RSI植被指数指标的建立,并采用4种回归算法进行叶绿素相对含量即SPAD值和光谱信息建模,选出合适菌草的模型。【结果】不同品种的菌草SPAD值差异不显著,主要是健康和干枯叶片的差异。叶片SPAD值和光谱反射值具有良好的相关性,RGB颜色系统红波段是最相关的波段,相关性达到-0.79。试验证明红波段的变化在健康叶片和干枯叶片之间更敏感。2种颜色系统综合评价,建模精度及稳定由高到低依次为:包含5个通道的RGB颜色系统,HSV颜色系统,仅包含R、G、B 3个通道的颜色系统。4种反演方法中,反演效果最好依次为随机森林机器学习方法、支持向量机机器学习和逐步线性回归方法、一元线性统计方法。预测SPAD值拟合效果最好的是RGB-NDSI-RF类型,其拟合数R~2为0.95、RMSE为3.04、MRE为0.19,验证R~2为0.75、RMSE为8.26、MRE为0.76。【结论】机器学习方法尤其是随机森林适用于菌草建模,可以取得较高的精度,具有高适应和稳定性。预测SPAD值拟合效果最好的是RGBNDSI-RF类型,其模型可以适用于不同菌草品种的建模,敏感识别叶片的叶绿素含量以评估其健康状态。

Abstract :

作者基于密云、宝坻、黄骅、唐山、潍坊、新乡、郑州、商丘、驻马店和南阳共10个站点1980-2009年的物候和气象资料,利用校准的SiBcrop模型,研究华北平原不同冬小麦播种期情景(早播种和晚播种)对地表水热收支的影响,得到华北平原冬小麦生长与地表水热收支数据集(1980-2009).数据集内容包括:(1)站点的位置数据;(2)不同播种情景,冬小麦生长数据(叶面积指数、生长度日、播种期和出苗期等)、地表辐射收支与能量分配数据(短波辐射四分量、下行长波辐射、反照率、净辐射、显热和潜热等)、小气候变量(冠层温度、土壤表层含水量)等.数据集存储为.shp和.xlsx格式,每个.xlsx文件存储1个站点的数据,包括21900个日记录.数据集一共由27个数据文件组成,数据量为44.0 MB(压缩为1个数据文件42.3 MB).
