Abstract :
Tea is one of the most widely consumed non-alcoholic beverages globally, yet its yield and quality are significantly impacted by herbivory from tea geometrids. To accurately detect herbivory stress in tea leaves, this study integrated metabolomics with visible-near-infrared spectroscopy (VIS-NIRS) to explore its in situ capabilities and underlying mechanisms. The results demonstrated that metabolomic data, combined with PCA-based linear dimensionality reduction, could effectively distinguish between tea leaves subjected to herbivory by different densities of tea geometrids. VIS-NIRS successfully identified herbivore-damaged leaves, achieving an optimal average classification accuracy of 0.857. Furthermore, VIS-NIRS was able to differentiate leaves subjected to herbivory on different days. The application of appropriate preprocessing techniques significantly enhanced temporal classification, achieving the highest average classification accuracy of 0.773. By integrating metabolomics and spectral band analysis, the spectral range of 800-2500 nm was found to more accurately identify leaves exposed to herbivory for a prolonged period. Compared to using the full spectrum, the model built within this wavelength range improved classification accuracy by 10%. In conclusion, this study provides a solid theoretical foundation for the in situ, rapid detection of tea geometrid herbivory stress in the field using VIS-NIRS, offering key technical support for future applications.

Abstract :
Accurate and rapid detection of soluble solids content (SSC) and pH is important for fruits and vegetables. This study achieves this objective by developing advanced modeling techniques. Initially, a Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR) model was established using one-dimensional (1D) spectra (wavelength: 350-2500 nm) to assess the feasibility of predicting SSC and pH in grapes and cherry tomatoes. Subsequently, various regression models were developed based on 1D spectra, including Back-Propagation Neural Network (BPNN), Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN), and Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN). Comparative analysis revealed that the 1D-CNN model exhibited the best performance. To further enhance model accuracy and generalization, the 1D spectra were transformed into two-dimensional (2D) domain feature matrices, representing the relative relationships between different spectral bands. These 2D matrices were then used as input for a 2D Convolutional Neural Network (2D-CNN) regression model, which demonstrated superior prediction accuracy and generalization capabilities compared to the 1D-CNN. Additionally, a frequency feature matrix was extracted by applying a sliding window technique combined with wavelet transform to the spectral data, capturing the amplitude-frequency characteristics. By integrating both the 2D domain feature matrices and the 2D frequency feature matrices, a dual-channel convolutional neural network (Dual-CNN) was constructed. The Dual-CNN model exhibited improved precision, stability, and generalization performance compared to previous models. The efficacy of the proposed approach was validated through the detection of SSC and pH in grapes and cherry tomatoes. The determination coefficients of prediction (RP2) reached 0.958 and 0.929 for SSC and pH, respectively, across five grape cultivars. Similarly, for cherry tomatoes, RP2 values of 0.936 and 0.925 were achieved for SSC and pH predictions across five cultivars. Furthermore, small-scale model transfer validation between grapes and cherry tomatoes demonstrated robust performance, with RP2 values ranging from 0.892 to 0.915 for SSC and pH predictions. These findings highlight the potential of the proposed method in enhancing the accuracy and reliability of spectral detection for assessing the quality attributes of fruits and vegetables.

Rapid nondestructive determination of the moisture content of tea leaves is the basis of intelligent control in tea processing. Visible and near infrared (Vis/NIR) spectroscopy can detect the fundamental vibrations of hydrogen group (O-H) in the organic molecules, and has become one of the most commonly used methods for rapid determination of the moisture content of tea leaves. However, the established spectral model often fails to predict new samples of different varieties or batches, and then it will limit the wide application of this technology. Hence, improvement in the model and removing the impact of these samples variation on the determination model become a key issue for quality control during tea processing. In this study, tea samples of nine batches from three varieties were adopted to verify the performance of model transfer in improving the generalization of spectral models, it is worth noting that the moisture content distribution of different varieties samples is obviously different. It can be found that spectral profile difference of the three batches of tea samples for each variety was effectively eliminated by model transfer. The prediction ability of the PLSR model was improved by correcting the spectra of the tested batches and varieties of tea leaves to solve the problem induced by sample differences. The determination model developed based on the variety of "Longjing" was successfully transferred to the other two varieties of "Wuniuzao" and "Yingshuang", and the R-p(2), were improved from 0.4343 to 0.2066 to 0.7595 and 0.6376, respectively by using DS algorithm comparing with un-transferred models. This study demonstrated that the proposed model transfer strategy by correcting the spectral data could be a robust technique for the rapid detection of the moisture content in different types of tea leaves and lay a basis for industrial application.

本发明提出一种自动化破竹机,用于把竹料制备为去除内外竹节的竹条,所述破竹机包括控制模块、上料机构、竹条剖切机构、竹节削除机构;所述竹条剖切机构处设有进料滑台和换刀机构;所述换刀机构包括设有多个不同规格剖切孔的剖切刀盘;剖切刀盘旋转使所需规格的剖切孔的入口与进料滑台的末端紧邻,剖切孔出口与竹节削除机构紧邻;当破竹机工作时,竹料被上料机构送至进料滑台后,进料滑台把竹料推压至剖切孔内,使经过剖切孔的竹料部位被剖切孔内的剖刀纵向剖切为竹条;所述竹条在进料滑台推力作用下经剖切孔出口进入竹节削除机构以去除竹条的内外竹节;本发明能对不同规格的竹子进行加工,而且能快速地去除竹子内壁和外壁处的竹节。

本实用新型涉及一种板材分拣装置,包括分拣输送机构、前导机架、若干个挡板翻转机构和若干个收集箱,各挡板翻转机构依次布设于前导机架后侧,前导机架和各挡板翻转机构的上端处于同一平面,以使位于前导机架上的板材在外力推动下,可以依次沿前导机架和各挡板翻转机构滑移前进;分拣输送机构位于前导机架和各挡板翻转机构上侧,以在其运转时驱动板材在前导机架和各挡板翻转机构上滑移前进;在每个挡板翻转机构前下侧和最后一个挡板翻转机构后下侧分别设有一个收集箱,挡板翻转机构前端设有可向上翻起的挡板,以当挡板向上翻起时,使水平滑移的板材掉入挡板翻转机构前下侧的收集箱中。该装置有利于对不同质量的板材进行分拣,自动化程度高。

The activities of enzymes are the basis of evaluating the quality of honey. Beekeepers usually use concentrators to process natural honey into concentrated honey by concentrating it under high temperatures. Active enzymes are very sensitive to high temperatures and will lose their activity when they exceed a certain temperature. The objective of this work is to study the kinetic mechanism of the temperature effect on diastase activity and to develop a nondestructive approach for quick determination of the diastase activity of honey through a heating process based on visible and near-infrared (Vis/NIR) spectroscopy. A total of 110 samples, including three species of botanical origin, were used for this study. To explore the kinetic mechanism of diastase activity under high temperatures, the honey of three kinds of botanical origins were processed with thermal treatment to obtain a variety of diastase activity. Diastase activity represented with diastase number (DN) was measured according to the national standard method. The results showed that the diastase activity decreased with the increase of temperature and heating time, and the sensitivity of acacia and longan to temperature was higher than linen. The optimum temperature for production and processing is 60 degrees C. Unsupervised clustering analysis was adopted to detect spectral characteristics of these honeys, indicating that different botanical origins of honeys can be distinguished in principal component spaces. Partial least squares (PLS) and least squares-support vector machine (LS-SVM) algorithms were applied to develop quantitative relationships between Vis/NIR spectroscopy and diastase activity. The best result was obtained through Gaussian filter smoothing-standard normal variate (GF-SNV) pretreatment and the LS-SVM model, known as GF-SNV-LS-SVM, with a determination coefficient (R-2) of prediction of 0.8872, and root mean square error (RMSE) of prediction of 0.2129. The overall results of this paper showed that the diastase activity of honey can be determined quickly and non-destructively with Vis/NIR spectral methods, which can be used to detect DN in the process of honey production and processing, and to maximize the nutrient content of honey.

[Click here to enter abstract text] The objective of this work is to study the role of transfer calibration correction (TCC) in eliminating the influence of detection environment on tea moisture content model. Spectrum of 6 days samples, including two tea varieties and each variety lasts three days, were divided into modeling set and prediction set in the ratio of 2:1, and used to establish moisture content model by partial least squares regression (PLSR) after multiplicative scatter correction (MSC) pre-treatment. The result showed that the moisture content of tea leaves which can be determined quickly and non-destructively by Visible and Near-Infrared (Vis/NIR) spectroscopy with the determination coefficients (R2) were greater than 0.9209 and the root-mean-square error (RMSEC) were less than 0.0411. Direct standardization (DS) algorithm was utilized to model transfer in the same species of different days. The results show that DS algorithm can eliminate the influence of environment on spectral modeling, especially when the environmental difference tremendously, the effect of DS algorithm was obviously. Through this study, ideas were provided for the establishment of a stable tea moisture content detection model. © 2019 ASABE Annual International Meeting. All rights reserved.
